Apart from the various black and white text box styles that Rachel adopted for her books, she also included a number of elaborately detailed black and white illustrations. In this drawing, Joe the Policeman pursues his infatuation with Annabella. The depth of detail is very much akin to her etching style and is produced via numerous different and very fine pen-nibs.
