Rachel's cover board illustration for 'The Second Book of Artemas', written anonymously by her husband, Andrew Cassels Brown, published in 1918.
There were four 'Books of Artemas' published over the latter and post First World War years, and a fifth one published at the outset of World War Two. Each humorously parodied the political aspects of the wars in a biblical narrative style. These books have previously been attributed to Arthur Telford Mason, but have subsequently been proven to have been written by Rachel's husband, Andrew Cassels Brown. Rachel designed the covers for the first three books.
Block printed onto cloth covered board with monogram. 165 mm x 108 mm.
